If this isn't looking beautiful as an email view it on the web.

We’ve enhanced what was already one of the best features of your app – the social integration. Currently, your users can sign in with their Facebook or Twitter account and share back to their networks. Now, each user has a profile page where they can add and manage multiple social network accounts, as well as see and connect with their friends from Facebook and Twitter who already have the app — and invite the rest who don’t.

Users can now send direct messages to each other. In addition, anytime they are messaged, or one of their comments is commented on, they’ll automatically receive a push notification, pulling them back into your app. We’ve of course added these features with privacy in mind, and users have full control to turn off notifications.

All of these features will increase the virality of your app, and keep users coming back more often.

New Sections

Locations View

The new Locations View allows you to plot as many points as you’d like, which will appear as pins on a Google Map. When a pin is clicked, it will reveal a detail view where you can add information about the location, get driving directions, see photos and other info. This is a highly flexible section, and can be used as anything from a “Store Locator” to a “City Guide.”

QR Code Scanner

QR codes – which are basically 3D bar codes - can be a powerful discovery tool. Now, all media you upload to your CMS will have a QR code automatically generated. When a user scans the QR code (which you can put anywhere), they’ll automatically be taken to the corresponding content.

We’ve also taken this a step further for those who’d like to take full advantage of QR codes for a contest or integrated marketing campaign. From the CMS, you can check a box to “lock” a piece of media (like a track or video) so it’s only viewable from scanning a QR code. This means, for example, that you can provide a QR code to users who purchase physical merch like a t-shirt or album, or link to hidden additional content from a print publication. Get creative as you want with how you use the feature!

Foursquare Check-in Integration

You can now turn on the ability for users of your app to check in via Foursquare. This will be especially beneficial to MoRo customers like venues, restaurants and sports teams. The check in button can be turned on for the Home screen, and will also appear with the locations view.

Restaurant Views

In addition to enhancing the sections we already offer, we’re constantly on the lookout for new businesses to take advantage of our platform. Our 3.1 update includes entirely new sections for Restaurants, including Menu views (with MenuPages integration), a Tip Calculator, and of course the Store Locator.

Visual Enhancements For The Design Savvy

Updates to the Appearance Section

Core app customers will appreciate additional color theme control in the Appearance section. We’ve also included the ability to choose from our library of header images and colors. Now you can dial in the look and feel of your app even more!

We’ve added a centralized place to manage all of your background images, and increased the amount of places in your app where you can have a background image, giving your app a more custom look and feel.

Other visual enhancements include:

  • “Pull to Refresh” loader on all sections
  • Redesigned Top Users section
  • Toggle between cover flow and list views (where appropriate)
  • Design enhancements on most detail views, as well as the Events and Fan Wall sections
  • Ability for custom fields on email list view
  • Banner image for Shows listing
  • Icons added to More list
New Technology Partners

More Video Support

Hosting your videos on Vimeo or Daily Motion? No problem. Just enter your URL’s and the videos will play in your app.

You can also now enter a “buy” link for videos you have for sale in iTunes.

Live Streaming

We’re very excited to announce our new partnership with Livestream. They’re a great option to live stream video into your app.

More Event Support

We’ve added support for Songkick (just type in the name of an artist, and your tour dates will automatically appear), Eventbrite and Plancast.

Wrapping Up

Your apps will be submitted over the next week, and should be live about 2 weeks later. New CMS sections and features will be turned on once your app update has been approved.

We hope you enjoy these updates. We’re already hard at work on our next version – including ad integration possibilities and Blackberry native app support. Stay tuned.
